Transparency and opacity is of significant interest to this body of work: creating transparency out of inherently opaque materials, pulling inspiration and influence from natural, varying colours of wood.  These wall mounted sculptures represent a passing of time, a shift from one geographical or physical location to another, they are a progression of space, of atmospheric perspective, of movement and distance and the space between spaces.  Each sculpture discusses these topics, as well as directly referencing the viewer in space; where they exist, both physically and emotionally.  Close and far, back and forth, solid and intangible.

Dichotomous relationships are not enemies, they are siblings.  How many sources mention that light cannot be defined without darkness, or that good is not good unless evil is just around the corner.  This series of sculptures is a lovechild of opposition.
